Being happy is extremely vital in people’s daily lives. In this essay, I will explain why it is hard to specify happiness since each person has their own definition, and why I believe strong relationships with others and physical and mental health are crucial to enrich their lives.

Every person has their own unique sense of happiness, and there is no universal definition of it, therefore, it is very difficult, or impossible to define this feeling. In addition, the equation of happiness not only changes per person but also per day. For example, I was content to have a conversation with my friend the day before yesterday. However, eating delicious sweets with my mother made me feel happy yesterday, while she felt happy watching her favourite movie. Consequently, it is clear that the feeling of happiness differs from person to person as well as per day.

However, there are several factors to achieve joyfulness. Having close and strong relationships with other people will lead individuals to live a delightful life. Moreover, to be physically and mentally healthy is essential to enjoy life. For instance, when I tore my ligament and had to use crutches, I was frustrated because I could not walk fast and a cast I wore made my leg itchy since the temperature was very hot and humid. After my leg had healed, I was able to go out with my friends for shopping without the cast and crutches. As a result, I felt free and happy again and realised that being physically healthy is an important factor to achieve satisfaction.

In conclusion, while it is difficult to identify happiness, I believe having strong bonds with others and being physically and mentally healthy are crucial elements to compose true happiness.
