IELTS SPEAKING PART 2 QUESTIONS

You will be given a task card on a particular topic, and this will include key points that you should talk about. The examiner will ask you one or two further questions on the same topic. Part 2 takes 3-4 minutes in total.


You will have to talk about the topic for one to two minutes.

You have one minute to think about what you are going to say.

You can make some notes to help you if you with.

ADVICE


  • Remember there are always 4 sub-questions to answer

  • Do not read the questions out before each answer

  • Paraphrase the question if you want to use it

  • Spend 30 seconds to answer each dot point

  • Write some notes to remind you of how to start each one

  • Make sure you are using the correct tense for that question

  • Prepare some answers for the most common questions

  • Think of true stories rather than inventing new ones

  • Avoid talking about people or events that make you emotional
